During this drill we will practice putting our focus on the target – and have some more fun practice on the range.

Begin by selecting a “green target” on the range. It should be about 10 yards wide where your ball lands. The boundaries could be a couple of trees in the distance, or yardage signs – anything that gives you a “mental green”.

The twist of the game is this: pretend there is a hazard to the left of the target that extends to the edge of the green. Any ball left of the target is wet.

Any ball right of the target, even if it misses the green, is OK. If it is right of the target and on the green, it is a birdie. Right of the target off the green is a par. Left of target is a bogie.

The goal is to get into the habit of focusing on the target regardless of the potential hazards nearby.

Play it with your Driver, too.

More Pars … more fun!
