Position on the Green
This week I want you to focus –as you play- on the best position on the green to putt from.

Having 2 putts or less on every green has a consideration BEFORE you putt.

No matter how good a putter you are, your approach shot into the green puts you in an impossible 2 putt position. The US Open shows us this every year.

This week I want you to focus –as you play- on the best position on the green to putt from. Chances are, the best position is where you will have an uphill putt. The worst position is where you will have a severe downhill or sidehill putt.

The drill is a test.

Pick a severe downhill putt from 20 feet. Hit 10 putts and see how many 2 putts you have.

Do the same with an uphill 30 footer.

Chances are pretty good, you will have more 2 putts uphill – and less stress.

This week pay attention to the slope of the green BEFORE you hit your approach shot. Be satisfied to have an uphill 15 footer instead of an impossible downhill or sidehill 10 footer.
